Meeting of CiberRede/CiberRed

A meeting of CiberRede/CiberRed, an Ibero-american network of public prosecutors specialized in cybercrime, is being held today at the Prosecutor General's Office in Lisboa.

The meeting is attended by representatives from Portugal and other 18 Ibero-american countries (Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Costa Rica, Cuba, the Dominican Republic,, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay).

CiberRede/CiberRed, the Ibero-american Network of Specialized Prosecutors on Cybercrime, was established at the XXIV General Assembly of the Ibero-american Association of Prosecution Services (held in Lisbon, October 2016).

Its objectives include to share information on cybercrime among the different countries of the Ibero-american space, to foster the exchange of experiences and knowledge, to create and disseminate good practices, as well as to streamline institutional cooperation and international judicial requests of mutual legal assistance.

The strategic subject under discussion is "cybercrime in the Ibero-american space - criminal phenomena and legislation".

It will also be discussed and defined the strategic objectives of CiberRede/CiberRed for the next triennium.

The meeting is supported by the Project GLACY+ of the Council of Europe.
